It was a beautiful Sunday, so we decided to check out Bella Italia's offering of sumptous latin Sunday brunch cuisine. Each order from the menu is accompanied by a complimentary Sangria (Wine based fruit cocktail). Today is also special because we had the honour of presence by Mr. Gilbert Wong from http://www.gilbertwong.com/, and up and coming professional photographer.

According to the friendly Chef Leonal Velazquez (who is of Cuban ancestry, but hails from the US), besides the sunday Latin brunch, they will be doing a Cuban food offering for 2 week starting 16th sept, as part of Bella Italia's new strategy of dynamic food menu. i.e they are constantly changing their menu (besides retaining old favourites) so foodies take note. In fact the kind head chef told us that after the end of the Cuban food promo, they will be serving specialty curry dishes. This versatile Cuban chef ply his trade in Sri Lanka for about 2 years before venturing to our land beneath the wind. So he's one man who knows his curry.

Latin Brunch
Sangria
Ingredients to make this drink
Nachos, RM18.00
We started off with nachos, which was served with cheese, ground beef and some spices. The nachos was made from scratch so its not your store-bought variety.

Sizzling Fajitas Combo, RM60
We also ordered sizling fajitas which consisted of a combo of Beef and Chicken (you have a selection of just beef, chicken, seafood). It came with tortilla skins, 4 selection of dips and chillies and a small serving of tomato sauteed rice. The aroma from the sizzling beef chicken and various vege was so irresistable.

Sizzling Chicken and Beef
Guatemala Scramble Egg, RM22.00

We also had a serving of  Guatemala which consist of rice with plain scrambled egg, mexican beans, plaintain (bananas) and tortila skins.

Grilled Skirt Steak Tomato Salad, RM28.00

Next we were served with Salada, which was mixed with medium done beef. Lots of greens so its very healthy while the beef was nice and tender.

Yes, we managed to finish all this + dessert (4 person dining)
Total paid for brunch, RM147.20

Ok..ok, one more photo before we......chow down our food
Dessert for sampling
We were also served with a selection of desserts, complements of Chef Leonal. Cheesecake, Creame caramel, brownies, fruits and "Coco loco" or loosely translates into crazy coconut, lined our tastebuds after sumptious main course.

Creame Caramel

Brownies and fruits

"coco loco" or coconut pudding

According to Chef Leonal, this is a cuban dessert, whereby the juice and flesh is scooped out, blended with sugar and corn starch and put back into the coconut shell. Simple, yet delicious.
