It was probably fate that had brought Jack and I back to New Wong Kok Restaurant for Dim Sum. We were at Penampang Baru hunting for food but due to the bad traffic around Servay Hypermarket, we, accidentally ended up in front of WK Restaurant. Since the Dim Sum at WK was just average, it seldom crossed our mind to eat there whenever we are craving for Dim Sum. However, today experience might have changed our perspective.

During weekend, WK is always crowded with locals enjoying Dim Sum as breakfast to start the day. Hence, most of the Dim Sum running out really fast and topped-up really fast.
Har Gao
This time around, the Har Gao tasted pretty good. The prawns was fresh and the skin was soft.
Siu Mai
The Siu Mai came out freshly and served hot. Minced pork dumpling topped with prawn. It was good.
Loh Mai Kai
The Loh Mai Kai also tasted not bad. Glutinous rice topped with mushroom, Chinese sausage, chicken and Char Siu.

My mom once told me that once upon a time, Loh Mai Kai was actually made from the leftover ingredients of Dim Sum. The chef who doesn't want to waste the leftover ingredients, tried to wrapped the ingredients together with the glutinous rice and bring to steamed. Surprisingly, it tasted so good and thus, Loh Mai Kai is created. (Sorry for being long winded, but I love the history of food)
Pork Dumpling
I don't really know what's the name of this dumpling. Anyway, it tasted average.
Steamed Chicken Feet
This is the most disappointing dish. It was either a leftover from the previous day or it was continuously steamed for very long time. The chicken feet staled. We didn't make a complaint and just skipped the dish.
Stir-fry Carrot Cake
One of my favourite dish but too bad that it just tasted so-so. It was quite cold when it was served.
Fried Pohpiah
It was crispy. Filled with minced pork and glass noodle. Taste wise, just average.
Total Bill = RM36.75
