Total paid for dinner, RM534.70
This post had been kept in the draft folder for quite some times. I should have publish it before I went to KL but due to my busy schedule, I totally forgotten about this particular post. It was a family dinner I had a week before I left KK.
"Sah Pak" Clams stir-fried with ginger onion, RM38.82
The clams were fresh and nice. The sweet savoury sauce complements the clam very well.
7 x Rice, RM17.50
Sabah Vegetable, RM30.00
This vege, aka sayur manis was simply cooked in garlic, so as to not spoil the herb-y taste of the stalks.
Butter Prawn, RM47.14
The prawn was fresh and sweet, and didn't have too much dirt in its "spine".
Steamed sea snail "Tung Fung", RM35.55
These sea snails were chewy, although it is actually quite tasteless, but the texture and its exotic appeal makes this dish a favourite among customers. Its jagged tail sticking out of the shell adds to the mystery for first-timers.
Mud Crab stir-fried with Salted Egg, RM78.30
This is also one of the must-try. The crabs are first deep-fried, then taken out of the hot oil and stir-fried with boiled salted egg yolk. To the uninitiated, the eggs are that from ducks, not chicken, as the former has a more firm and sandy texture, suited to make this sauce. If you are not concerned with table manners, then it is recommended to lick/suck the shell clean.
Steamed Star Garouper, RM251.58
The fish was fresh and sweet, steamed just right to maintain its brittle texture.
Mango, RM18.25
Finally for desserts we had mango and coconut pudding. Overall the food was rather nice, but a priced a little on the higher side.
Coconut Pudding, RM14.00
To be seated in a room, we must order our food with a total bill above RM400
It's quite empty though, used to be all packed!
