Tilapia… the name of this fish is like music to my ears. Now there must be more than a million types of different fish species out there, but if we talk about fresh water fish, my favourite has to be Tilapia. It has one of the smoothest and softest flesh ever, but without the many tiny bones that is characteristic to fresh water fish. Of course, it also helps that this fish is not that pricey. Just last week, we stumbled upon a relatively new restaurant called Kajang Hot & Spicy Soup in Puchong, and decided to give it a try.

The claypot is said to be able to distribute heat evenly and maintain the moisture within, hence creating food that is flavourful and moist. A Dose of High at Flying Chillies: It is no secret that I love hot and spicy food. Anything with my good friend, chilli in it is sure to perk up my senses. Fortunately, I’m lucky to have a partner-in-crime that feels the same way, so much so that whenever either of us is in the mood for fiery food, the other would gladly oblige. One night, I was craving for some hot and spicy tom yam soup when we were in The Gardens waiting for our midnight movie. I find it so versatile – one can cook pasta with cheese, tomatoes, olive oil or even curry! And the variety of pasta is just endless – spaghetti, spaghettini, ravioli, angel’s hair, linguine, you name it. The possibilities with them are endless! Perhaps that’s why, more restaurants are unleashing their creativity with this versatile ingredient. I happen to visit Vanilla Place last week with a group of friends, and dining there meant more than just pasta!

Sushi Tei, for example, has come up with a brilliant plan on donating 50% of its sales proceeds (on 25th of March 2011) from all its outlets to support the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami.
