Old China Kafe @ Petaling Street

The premises of Old China cafe and gallery is actually the old guild hall of the Selangor and Federal Territory Laundry Association. The guild was set up at the turn of the century and moved to this part of Chinatown in the 1920s. Old China Cafe tries to maintain asemblance of the Chinese community’s old social life which will soon fade into history. Old China Cafe serve food that originates from the Baba Nonya communities of Malacca and Penang which features Malay spices as well as Chinese ingredients and cooking techniques.

Indonesia Food & Cultural Festival @ Mosaic, Mandarin Oriental KL

Mosaic at Mandarin Oriental KL celebrates all things Indonesian from 16 March to 24 March 2012. In collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and Garuda Indonesia, Mosaic introducing an Indonesian Food and Cultural Festival, the cuisine will be prepared by Chef Kusram Deni from Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Diners will be treated to a wide array of Indonesian dishes with three menus on rotation daily. Price: Lunch is priced at RM88++ per person while dinner is at RM108++ per person (Sunday to Thursday) and RM128++ per person (Friday and Saturday).

Restoran Hong Sang @ Kuchai Lama

This mixed rice stall that serves over 50 varieties of vegetables and meats that complement servings of rice. Newly opened located in Kuchai Lama it's in a shoplot. Most working people and residents eat here. Not only are the choices staggering, if you do a mix of different foods every day you could probably run through half a year without repeating all the dishes. Most of the patrons opted for around 3 different types of dishes (typically 2 vegetables + 1 meat). Price range start from RM3 and above, depending on how many dishes you pick from the vast spread. The average price is roughly around the range of RM4 to RM6.50.

BROOKLYN RESTAURANT @ 1 Borneo

Here is my first food post with Everyday Food I Love. So here goes my introduction. My name is Melisa and I am currently working as an interior designer. Brooklyn Restaurant is a new restaurant in 1Borneo replacing the previous New York New York Restaurant. About six months old, Brooklyn Restaurant which specialized in American food such as burgers, hotdogs, pizza, pasta and steak, had recently launched a list of eight, premium burgers with the price ranges from RM19.50+ to RM28.50+.

SAM SAM KOREAN @ Food Garden, The Gardens

Korean stall at Food Garden was manned by a Korean Family, it's wonderful chance to eat some authentic Korean food. Koreans are very particular when it comes to healthy eating. The food selection was very simple with just a few dishes to offer, ranging from bibimbap, grilled meats and soupy concoction.

Since my friend told me this place serve good Hokkien mee and they are using charcoal stove to cook their food. This place is near Old Klang Road area and easy to find parking at night. Apart from their popular hokkien mee and wat tan hor, there are some good side dishes to order as well, like fried sotong and fish too.

Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant @ Mid Valley

Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant oddly located on the third floor, upper level right next to Carl's Jr at Mid Valley. The tradition of Korean restaurant, they always serve you some standard side dishes but in Korea they normally just give us 3 types of kimchi. Over here, you'll get 6 side dishes, and its can be refill. Prices here are quite reasonable.

Restoran Meng Shiang @ Tmn Yulek, Cheras

Restoran Meng Shiang in Taman Cheras is a must-try place, famed for its char siew (BBQ pork) and wantan noodles. I was told that this place serves "the best char siew in Cheras". The owner's husband learnt how to roast char siew from a Hong Kong chef, and the couple have been selling the roast meat for over 20 yrs. Customers can wait up to 30-40 minutes for this delicious wantan noodle. this stall is super popular. Apart from char siew, the stall also serves barbequeued pork ribs, which are a rare treat nowadays. Not many hawkers can produce premium-grade char siew that is tasty and tender. Instead of slicing the slab of char siew, Janet chops them into thick pieces of char siew and served with the noodles.

Kedai Kopi Hilltop @ Hilltop, Sabah

During the day, Kedai Kopi Hilltop serves the common KKian's breakfast, Yu Chap Mee, or loosely translated as Mixed Fish Noodle. It is one of the famous food in Sabah. While it might not be as popular as the fish noodle in Kedai Kopi Janggut or Jin Jin Seafood Restaurant, the Mixed Fish Noodle at Kedai Kopi Hilltop do has it own unique taste and secret recipe.

Restaurant Choy Kei is a place to find some great hawker food. There are three stalls that are worth mentioning in this restaurant namely the stalls that sells pork noodles, chicken rice and fish head noodles (operated by one of the son of the famous Win Soon Cafe). My personal favourite would be the pork noodles, which serves excellent soup and dry version of pork noodles, it closes around 2pm.

Restoran Tin Sum @ OUG

Breakfast at OUG, this is the perfect place to go for dim sum, it's run by a Foo Chow family. The food here is pretty good, it wasn't a royal dim sum, but tastes are marginally better than the regular dim sum places. Do expect a big crowd here or it's either earlier or later that you can easily find a table. Anyway, it won't take too long to wait too.

Nam Seng Bak Kut Teh is one of the place which offers a nice decent Bak Kut Teh with friendly and fast service, it is located at Taman Kuchai Jaya. This Bak Kut Teh is a family run business, famous among the neighbourhood and already have their own regulars customer. There is no menu to look at, all you can do is ask for recommendation from the boss. Some BKT dishes are serve in bowl or either claypot and food here are quite reasonable price.

Incredibly cheap food is the word I will use to describe Black Pepper Cafe at Kingfisher. This simple air-conditioned cafe with Wifi service available, offers food and drinks at a really cheap prices. How cheap? Cold drinks such as Teh-O Iced, Kopi-O Iced and Syrup Iced at RM1.20 and Noodle or Rice dish at the price of RM3.50 onwards.

Restoran Loong Fatt Seafood @ Taman Kuchai Jaya

This seafood restaurant at Kuchai Lama is specializes in Stir-fried Shark meat dishes and Norwegian fish cooked in Chinese wine. Honestly, I was not very keen on having shark meat dishes but it's quite healthy as it's low in fat, rich in Omega-3 and this restaurant cooked it well too. The shark meat texture was more like cooked tuna and it was tasteless itself, the intense flavor comes from the sauce which was supposed to compliment the shark meat.
