Launch of myChef Ready-to-Serve Meals on 16th November 2011 @ Tapis Rouge, Red Carpet Avenue, Encorp Strand

Ever wondered how you can cook a delicious healthy gourmet meal in a jiff without much hassle? Let me introduce you to myChef Ready-to-Serve Meals. I am greatly honoured to have been invited to the launch of myChef Ready-to-Serve Meals. A pet project of YB Senator Dato' Sri Effendi Norwawi and produced by a company called Flavor Innovation, myChef Ready-to-Serve Meals is indeed a new innovative product in the Malaysian market. Its products are halal, healthy, easy and quick to prepare and have been invented with new technology in compliance with local and international Food Handling & Safety Standards.

myChef Ready-to-Serve Meals come in 14 different cuisines, coined as the Signature Series. This Series is inspired by traditional Malay, Nyonya, Western and Asian recipes by Malaysia's top celebrity ches, Chef Liza, Chef Florence Tan, Dato' Chef Ismail and Chef Zam. All four chefs are food icons in the local culinary industry. It was a great pleasure for me to be able to meet such well-known and well-respected food icons at the launch.
An interesting feature of myChef's products is its "traffic lights colour code". The traffic light colour on the pack will help consumers choose a healthier diet. Green indicates low content, which is  healthier choice, amber for medium content, which is acceptable and red represents high content, which is less healthy as specified by the UK's Food Standard gency.
myChef is ideal for just about anyone who lives a hectic lifestyle but wants to remain healthy. It is suitable for the working parent who also has to take care of the home as it helps cut down the time needed to prepare meals for the family. This gives such persons more quality time with the family.
myChef's products will be available at Jaya Grocer in the week of 21st November and 4th December in Tesco and Giant outlets within the Klang Valley. The products are also reasonably priced. For instance, the price of  portion of fried rice would cost less than RM 5, a portion of tenggiri will cost on RM 15 and a single meal costs only between RM 8.90 - RM 9.90. The portions are catered for a party of 2 - 3 persons to cater to the Malaysian eating culture of never eating alone. After all, eating is a social event in Malaysia!
myChef will firstly be available in Malaysia and more cuisines will be released stage by stage. Flavor Innovation plans to enter the ready-meals market in Brunei, Singapore, the UK and the Middle East.
Although the ready-meals market in Malaysia may be small or young, it is believed that these products will be able to compete with existing products in the market and will overtake its competitors because it is a healthier option compared to existing products in the market.
myChef's products are also produced in an extremely hygienic environment and tested in Flavor Innovation's specially designed laboratory to measure critical parameters and to ensure consistency in its products. myChef's products have 6 months shelf life.
Flavor Innovation is extremely confident with its products and estimates that the expected sales for the first year will reach 2.5 million packs and RM 15 million in sales.
I am therefore extremely glad to have been invited to the launch of such an innovative and beneficial product. The lauch was also graced by Datin Tiara Jacquelina, representatives from HDC,  KPDN, Matrade, DV, MARA, Tesco, Giant and Jaya Grocer. Of course, the tip of the iceberg was being able to meet the 4 Malaysian food icons! I also had the opportunity to sample the products and they are indeed worthy of great compliment.
I hope all of you enjoy the pictures and do check out the products to try it yourself! If you want to change your hectic lifestyle to one which is healthier, myChef Ready-to-Serve Meals is the way to go!

Hmm I know it's supposed to be a healthier choice and everything, but if it's prepacked frozen food that is made to last for at least 6 months, I'm sure it must contain some sort of preservatives though right? I wonder if they may have touched on this subject during the launch?
