Great dining ideas to welcome and celebrate the New Year at Resorts World Genting

Genting Highlands, 18 th December 2019 - Resorts World Genting offers great food, stylish celebratory options and luxurious culinary experiences with which to bid farewell to 2019 and welcome the New Year. The resort, long known for its vibrant year-end celebrations, will continue to be the venue with a difference to those wanting to take New Year’s Eve partying to a whole new level. Its exciting multi-concept hangout enclave, High Line and Zouk Atrium, will lead the celebrations as it offers pre-booking for prime fireworks viewing seats and countdown fun.

REVERLERS’ HAVEN
Starting 1 December 2019, would-be revelers can snap up tables for a special package for a maximum party of five at Highline. The outdoor terrace table package assures great vantage points for the legendary Resorts World Genting fireworks (subject to weather conditions) and is valid from 10pm to midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Zouk Genting has some hard-partying Countdown Packages for those who want to party in style. Package 1 (RM3300) offers up to 22 party goers entry to the iconic club, with a sour plum shot, two tequila shots, three Christmas shots, four bottles of Heineken, and five Mumms champagne. Package 2 (RM750) buys entry for up to six, with five Heineken bottles, four Christmas shots, three cans of Coke, two sour plum shots and one Jack Daniels. Package 3 offers entry for up to 14, with five Heineken bottles, four sour plum shots, three Christmas shots, two Mumms champagne and a bottle of Grey Goose for RM2050. The Premium package, costing RM2500, is good for entry for six, with five bottles of Heineken, four tequila shots, three sour plum shots, two Christmas shots, and a choice of either a bottle of Glenlivet 18 Years, Dom Perignon Brut, or a 1.5 litre bottle of Moet & Chandon.

Partygoers who prefer the popular Cloud 9 as their celebration base can usher in the New Year with Cloud 9’s resident band. Cloud 9 begins operations at 5pm, with the party lasting until 5am Powerplant will offer a free bar snack with each tower of Tiger purchased, for RM140++. The promotion runs all day. Happy Hour at Powerplant is known as JJAN Hour, and will run daily until 9pm. And for something more exciting than a staid Christmas menu, check out Powerplant’s Korean fusion menu, for two to three persons. The venue’s resident band plays nightly from 8pm.

Rockafellers Kitchen + Bar will run a ‘Why Go Elsewhere’ promotion from 23 November 2019 to 1 January 2020. The authentic Northern Indian and Western Cuisine outlet’s Happy Hour Promotion starts from 11am onwards daily, and will offer a two and five pints, as well as a five half pint promotion for Tiger, Heineken, Guinness, Kilkenny, and Paulaner. The sliding scale of prices will see Tiger beer dropping to as low as RM50+ beginning 11am to 8pm. Live entertainment by Groove Company, and live DJs Johnny and Marcus will set the soundtrack for the evenings of The Red Christmas Party on 24 December 2019 and New Year 2020 Celebration on 31 December 2019 from 8pm onwards, with a sure-fire mix of Top 40s, R&B, dance, hip hop, pop and rock.

Nicsmann 1940’s by Lewré has an all new snack menu for the season, designed to satisfy cravings for crispy and tasty tapas. New bestsellers include spicy Japanese tako with sriracha sauce and pickles, crispy baby crab with spicy powder and chili tartare sauce, and traditional chicken satay with peanut sauce. The venue’s special Christmas menu, which runs from 24 to 25 December 2019, will ensure a heart-warming Christmas meal, with lots of activities and surprises at Christmas eve. Menu highlights include poached salmon fillet, baked lobster tail with raclette, served with beetroot, asparagus and chive cream, the pan-grilled rib eye meltique with mixed vegetables, and stuffed, roasted rolled lamb with pistachio stuffing, served with sauté mixed vegetables and rosemary sauce. Each dish is priced at RM128. If turkey is a must for Christmas, the venue also offers whole oven-baked turkey priced at RM348 per bird, and half priced at RM208. A dedicated chef will be on hand to carve this Christmas masterpiece, which will be stuffed with root vegetables and served with homemade brown sauce.

Nicsmann 1940’s by Lewré features a performing stage with state-of-the-art lighting effects and LED backdrop, in-house DJ, and daily live music presented by Rockquila, a well-known group of talented live performing artists, who will perform daily from 9pm to late on Mondays to Saturdays, and from 8pm on Sundays.

If lounge setting is your preference Park Avenue Lounge will be offering prime balcony seats for equally breathtaking fireworks views. Patrons may order a combination of menu items to amass the spending, with the condition that it is in a single receipt. The promotion will run from 7pm to 1am on New Year’s Eve.

SUMPTUOUS DINNER TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR
Should a pre-party dinner be on the cards on New Year’s Eve, The Olive, Resorts World Genting’s highly awarded fine dining restaurant, has an outstanding celebratory menu on the cards. The five-course Western set dinner, inclusive of a party pack, will kick off with a duo of fresh and cheese-baked oysters, wild mushroom salad with arugula, sundried tomato, truffle oil and parmesan cheese, pumpkin butternut soup with smoked duck, and a choice of lamb loin ratatouille or poached cod with basil and curry mousseline mains. Dessert is a decadent Bailey’s tiramisu bomb, with praline croquantine, red wine jelly, and chocolate cocoa cubes.

Park Avenue Lounge’s six-course Western set dinner on 31 December 2019 will feature pastrami salmon with chive mascarpone, ossetra prestige caviar, and lemon infused olive oil aside a fragrantly scented cinnamon poached pear, arugula, Manchega cheese and toasted pine nut salad. The meal offers two options - served with a bottle of Hermanos Lurton or pairing with a bottle of Drappier Carte D'or Champagne. New Year’s Day dinner beginning from 7pm.

For a more informal gathering of friends, consider Burger & Lobster’s Tower of London promotion, available from 11am to 12am, which consists of a combination of the very best offerings from the upscale diner. The set includes one signature Burger & Lobster burger, one Original burger, two Original lobsters (either steamed or grilled), a chilli roll, original lobster roll, two sundae ice-creams, and one bottle of Moet Chandon. 

For a truly year-end worthy buffet spread, head to Coffee Terrace, which will offer a New Year’s Eve buffet lunch from 12 noon to 2.30 pm priced at RM52 nett per adult and RM26 nett per child. Dinner is set more lavish at RM96 nett per adult and RM48 nett per child. Served from 5pm to 9.30pm, the dinner buffet will feature a seafood on ice display stocked with salmon, tuna, prawns, green lipped mussels, flower crabs and crabsticks, as well as a salad bar with chilled deli items like potato salad, two soups (wild mushroom and cream of pumpkin), and a carving station where the final turkey of the year, beef Wellington, and roasted stuffed lamb shoulder stand ready to be enjoyed. The buffet will also feature Asian, Malaysian, Chinese and Japanese counters.

For the sweet-toothed, the dessert section is a dreamscape of dainty delights, comprising of Christmas cookies, yule log cake, Christmas pudding, fruit and other morsels of delight, with an infusion of local desserts to balance up the offerings. Christmas cookies, a yule log, Christmas pudding, fruit, and individual serving portions of a variety of cakes, puddings, and other sweet treats will be available at the dessert station.

To ease oneself into the New Year, a buffet lunch at Awana Genting’s Rajawali coffee house, overlooking the lush rainforest, might just be the thing. Served from noon to 2.30pm, the buffet spread, priced at RM53 nett and RM26.50 nett for adults and children respectively, will offer a salad bar and seafood on ice, alongside stomach-warming mushroom and onion soup. In a truly Malaysian feast, there will be a dedicated banana leaf rice station offering chicken curry, fish curry, lamb prathal, fried fish, and fried cabbage served with fluffy white rice. A noodle kiosk will specialize in mee Bandung, mee rebus and laksa Johor, while the Chinese live cooking station will prepare fresh ala minute vegetable dishes. Roasted leg of lamb and striploin will be the draw at the carving station. For dessert, Bubur cha, that most Malaysian love, will be the local flavour at the dessert table, flanked by chocolate brownies, American cheesecake, assorted puddings, jellies, French pastries, and scones.
