Carlsberg Diamond Idol Grand Finale @ The Bed, Waterfront

With the successful completion of the Carlsberg Diamond Idol Area Finals in Sabah and Sarawak, as many as 12 grand finalists took center stage at the Grand Finale in Kota Kinabalu.

Carlsberg, Malaysia's most preferred beer brand has been hosting the competition since 2011, with the objective of promoting young talents with singing skills. This year's edition offered cas prizes worth more than RM30,000.

During the Grand Finale at The Bed Club, Waterfront, Kota Kinabalu, the judges of the Carlsberg Diamond Idol are Stephen Lim, Nikki Palikat and Eric Lim. Stephen Lim is a well known producer who has collaborated with Hong Kong artises like Jacky Cheung, Eason Chen and Daniel Wu. He was also responsible in producing the jingle for CDI which was performed by the 12 grand finalists in the opening. Nikki Palikat is a well known Sabahan songstress who made it big after the first season of Malaysian Idol. Another star attraction on the panel was Eric Lim, who won the Astro Talent Quest in 2001.

The Champion of the Carlsberg Diamond Idol 2012 walkaway with a cash prize of RM8,000, a trophy and a certificate while the 1st Runner Up walkaway with cash prize of RM5,000, a trophy and a certificate and the 2nd Runner Up walkaway with RM2,000, a trophy and a certificate. Both the Third and Forth Runner Up won a cash prize of RM1,000 each with a trophy and a certificate.
