Kedai Makan Kong Teck @ Sandakan

Fish Mee is one local signature dish of Sandakan which their noodles are made with fish paste and cut into strip, and it's all about everything made from fish, from fish ball, fish roll, fried fish dumpling, fish cake and more. Kedai Makan Kong Teck is located in a row of shops when you turn into Taman Pak Tak at Mile 7 Sandakan town. You can choose to have it in clear soup, curry soup, prawn soup and must try their Hakka noodle (dry) topped with minced pork or Hakka loh sue fun topped with fried pork with spices and minced pork.

Fish Cake in clear broth
Savoury Fish Cake accompanied by juicy fresh lettuces drenched in light flavour's clear broth is a simply delicious dish. You can order it as a side dish or to go with noodle.
Mixed Fish (Yu Chap) in clear broth
Next, we had the Yu Chap, assorted fish products served in clear broth. Fresh ingredients is the secret behind the good taste of this bowlful of goodness.

Hakka Kon Lau Mien
The famous Hakka Kon Lau Mien consist of thin noodle seasoned with flavourful sauce topped with minced meat and garnished with spring onion. Its simple taste is just incredibly good.

Hakka Loh Sue Fun
Loh Sue Fun also known as silver needle noodles, it is handmade by themselves. I like the Hakka style where the kon lau (dry) noodle was topped with light clear sauce, minced pork and fried por (char nyuk). This is a must try dish!!!

Prawn Noodle
Another recommended dish is the Prawn Noodle. Its mildly spices broth with sweet-savoury flavour goes really well with noodle. Comes with prawns and assorted fish products, you can get a taste of the fresh seafood products from Sandakan by having this dish.

Curry Noodle
The Curry Noodle wasn't overly spices nor too rich. It was mild spicy, slightly sweetish and savoury in taste. Served with beancurd puff, fried wantan, fried beancurd skin stuffed with fish paste, fish cakes and noodle of your choice, it is another favourite of the locales.
