Ayam Penyet Ria @ 1Borneo

Ayam Penyet Ria is the latest chain restaurant opened in 1Borneo Hypermall. Located at the Concourse floor, next to Digi Service Center, this restaurant claimed to offer authentic taste of Indonesia by serving the famous Indonesian's Ayam Penyet (litterally translated as smashed chicken) and others Indonesian dishes.

Ayam Penyet Ria
C-227, Concourse Floor,
1Borneo Hypermall, KK, Sabah.
Soda Gembira RM3.00, Water RM0.70
Ayam Penyet RM8.70
The Ayam Penyet dish comes with a piece of fried chicken topped with crispy crumbs, tempeh (fried fermented soy bean), fried beancurd, vegetables and sambal (Indonesian chili paste). Well, I must admit that the chili paste is for people that love fiery hot food as it is spicier than I ever thought it would be.
Ayam Tanpa Tulang RM8.70
For less messier eating, the Ayam Tanpa Tulang (Boneless chicken) is a good choice. It consist of a piece of fried chicken breast, accompanied by the side dishes; tempeh, fried beancurd, vegetables and sambal.

Bakso Penyet RM5.50
Bakso Penyet is basically made from meatball, lightly smashed and deep-fried, topped with crispy crumbs and accompanied by the usual side dish.
Sup Sayur Asam RM4.50
The Sup Sayur Asam (Sourish Vegetables Soup) is a unique dish you can find in Indonesian cuisine. It was cooked with assorted vegetables such as kangkung, corn, cabbage, peanut and jackfruit. The taste of the soup is sourish and sweet with mild spiciness.
Rice RM1.50
Total Paid = RM30.30

Finally have the ayam tanpa tulang. The other day went there I think the only thing they have was the ayam penyet, wanted the one without tulang or the fish but they don't have it. I'll go eat after my marathon XD

Thanks for the post.

There is a shop which serves nice Nasi Ayam Penyet near Seremban Seafood Restaurant, Alam Mesra. It's packed during lunch time on weekdays visited mostly by UMS students and staff. RM6 per plate. The chilli paste is very spicy. The tempeh is nice too.
