Tucked into a tiny courtyard in Soho, C and R Café Restaurant is one of London's best spots for a cheap and cheerful Malaysian meal. Although it should probably be considered more of a café than a restaurant thanks to no-fuss service and a quick turnover of tables, this does not mean that authenticity of the dishes is compromised. It gets particularly busy at lunchtimes, when half of central London rush down to get a huge portion of one of their specialties. Many have said that their Laksa is the best in town, the big flavoursome bowl of spicy noodle soup hits the spot whatever mood you're in. The staff are happy to recommend dishes from their menu, although it is advisable to give their excellent char kway teow a try, a stir-fried dish of rice noodles and prawns. Their wide range of Malaysian desserts means that even those with a sweet tooth will leave C and R Café Restaurant full and happy.
