Kota Kinabalu Food Festival 2013 Ends with a Bang!



After an exciting month of food galore, the Kota Kinabalu Food Festival 2013 ended last night with a Closing Cocktail at Sparks, Ming Garden Hotel and Residences. This exclusive by-invitation-only ceremony was designed as a networking event and as a gesture of gratitude from the organisers for the support of the KK Food Fest's participants, sponsors, advertisers, invited guests and members of the media. Certificates of participation were presented to all the restaurants, cafes, hotels and bistros that took part in this year’s KK Food Festival and made it a success. And the winner of the Scan and Win Contest who will take home a brand new Acer Iconia B1 was also announced during the ceremony.

Participants included The Retro Club, Aubergine Bistro, Lucky Bean, Cristao Café and Grill, The Tea House, Newspaper Café, Yu Café, Ferdinand’s, Nagisa Japanese Restaurant, The Golden Dew Bistro, Silk Garden, Shang Place, The Chinese Restaurant, 90’s The Restaurant and More, Bintulu Korean Restaurant, Bella Restaurant, Brooklyn Restaurant, Bomber’s Burger,The CHUBs Grill, Cherry Restaurant, Hungry People, Emperor’s Delight, Malisa’s Flame Grilled Chicken, Kampung Nelayan, Tasty Wok and Red Place.

According to the KK Food Fest’s Project Manager, Alfred Allen, “It has been such an amazing month for us and we are overwhelmed by all the positive responses that we have been getting about the Festival this year. We would like to say a big thank you to all the participants, our main sponsors Guinness Anchor Berhad, Saza Rice and Indocafe, sponsor for the press conference, Malisa’s Flame Grilled Chicken and sponsor for the closing cocktail, Ming Garden Hotel and Residence.”
He added: “We are especially happy about the huge success of the Opening Bazaar. During the two-day period we had over 10,000 visitors. The responses we got from the visitors were very positive and sales generated by our participants were very encouraging. Plus, the response during the Sabah Food Industry Expo (SFIE) was also great. We hope that we will continue to keep growing the Festival in future years to come in support of our local F&B industry.”
