On my trip back to KK it ws good to stop by this coffee shop located near KKIA, Kedai Kopi San Sui Baru well-known by the locals. From Tom Yam Noodle, Fish Noodle and Fried Noodle to some simple Seafood dishes, the restaurant offers not only variety but also good food. Only open for breakfast and till late lunch hours.

Spinning (Indoor Cycling) for Fat Burning

Spinning or Power Pacing is an indoor cycling class led by trained instructors. Workouts are conducted on specially designed stationary bikes that feature a weighted flywheel, a front wheel, plus adjustable seats and handlebars. Spin-type bikes also come equipped with a gear knob, which allows you to modify the intensity of your workout. Spinning classes typically consist of 15 to 20 people and last about 60 minutes. In addition to the bikes, another key component of spinning classes is music.

Kim Lian Kee was founded in 1927 by Ong Kim Lian who migrated to Malaya from Fukien, China, for a better life. Chinese New year is the most important of traditional Chinese holidays. In China, it is known as "Spring Festival", it mark the end of the winter season. The festival begins on the first day of the first month "Zheng Yue" in the traditional Chinese calender and ends with Lantern Festival which is on the 15th day. Because the Chinese calender is lunisolar, the Chinese New Year is often reffered to as th "Lunar New Year". On Lunar New Year, abstaining from meat consumption on the first day is believed to enhance longevity. Additionally, a vegetarian dish helps to purify and cleanse out the body as well as it honors a Buddhist tradition that nothing living should be killed on the first day of the New Year.

CNY Family Reunion Dinner @ Northpoint Residences

During the Chinese New Year's Eve, without fail, families will gather for a feast known as ''Tuan Yuan Fan'', literally  translated as Reunion Dinner. Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner is the biggest event for this festival, this meal is comparable to Christmas dinner in the West. After dinner, some families go to local temples hours before the New Year begins to pray for a prosperous new year by lighting the first incense of the year. However in modern practice, many households hold parties, even hold a countdown to the New Year and will end the night with firecrackers. Traditionally, firecrackers were once lit to scare away evil spirits with the household doors sealed. Fireworks must be lit before 24:00 on the New Year’s Eve.

We venture into Wai Sek Gai (Pure Glutton Street), a hidden street in between shophouses in Pudu converted into a food street with stalls offering all sorts of varieties with tables and stools all along the street. KL local favorite street food, it used to be one of the most happening streets decades ago. Famous for its food, that's how it gained the name of “Wai Sek Kai”. The glory of the food on this street lives till this day. Most of the stalls here open from 4.30 pm till late.

Hua Xing Restaurant located in a complex on the first floor behind the main road, this location look a bit scary if you're going alone, it was a quite area. This restaurant that has been around for a very lont time, is still a hot favorite among old timer. At the air conditioned dining area, it is always packed with people during dinner time. We ordered most of their specialties and just waited for the food to come. Their Hokkien cuisine is really famous and has never been short of endorsements from local celebrities. Hua Xing has recently re-laminated their newspaper cuttings and wall photo-menu!

Restoran Sek Yuen (Ikan Mentah) @ Pudu

Walk down memory lane dining at this Restaurant Sek Yuen which has been around for over 50 years, just off the busy main road in Pudu. Now run by the 3rd generation Phang's family and still draws in a large crowds with their old Chinese style of cooking food using charcoal, just like the olden days. Even the rice here is slow-cooked over wood fire and serve with aluminium bowl. We felt like we were walking back to the 1960s once we stepped in. The do have an air-conditioned seating area over the next door shop but most people still prefer to be seated at the original old building. The nostalgic interior of old wooden chairs, faded tables and polished tiles bear witness of time. We reached around 7pm, and the place was already pack, we waited 15 minutes for a table.

Together with a few friend, we drive over to Happy Garden searching for a restaurant for dinner. We are basically clueless, but end up having a great dinner at Restoran Fresh Fried Seafood. Good food, reasonable price, fast and friendly services. You can see many of their patrons are regulars. Must try their Chef Recommended dish: Deep Fried Pork Knuckle, Nyonya Style Steamed Tilapia Fish, Three Style Pork Ribs and etc.

I like piping hot noodles with a good broth. Corrine introduced me to try out this Win Soon Fish Head Noodle Cafe. She told me, they have 2 branches, one at Kuchai Lama and another at Puchong Bandar Puteri. This place always crowded during lunch and dinner. You get a choice of fish head, fillets, fish paste or even the deluxe addition of prawns (RM15.80). Price for a basic noodles start from RM8 onward and I believe most of the customers don’t mind to pay for a bowl of lip smacking fish head noodle with this price range. Simply love their tasty rich broth filled with rice vermicelli, salted vegetables, evaporated milk, shredded ginger, sliced of tomato, crispy pork lard fritters and big chunk fried fish head meat and nice springy bite of fish paste.

I've been invited for the soft launch of Din Tai Fung e@Curve, they're having a trial run for their business to make sure their services efficiency and food quality reach their guest expectation. Din Tai Fung has been voted Top 10 Restaurants in the World by The New York Times and has garnered 1 Michelin Star. This Taiwanese restaurant serves on of the best Xiao Long Bao (steamed dumplings). Open kitchen concept is their trademark and also well-appointed decor, serving comfort food like pork chop fried rice and stir-fried vegetables. Or go for a heartier meal, the braised Beef La-mian, springy noodles wallowing in rich beefy soup. I would highly recommend this be a once a week family visit restaurant with dishes like steamed chicken soup, fried rice with pork chop that is incredibly tender, noodle soups and wantons (all hand-made) that will please anyone and any age group.

Sin Chua Kee Seafood Restaurant is a seafood restaurant near Old Klang Road that located at Jalan Kuchai Lama, which just after the Old Klang Road's wet market. A reminder to go early, best to be there by 6pm, if not be prepared for a long wait. I would like say no matter how busy this place is the lady who took our order was very pleasant, service with a smile, it makes everyone happy. We ordered Assam fish ( house special), salted egg crabs, la la in superior soup, prawns cooked in dark soy sauce and a stir-fried vegetable, that's for 3 person dining in.
