Erica Sandakan Trip - Going Back to Hometown

Blog_For_Fun Monday, April 26, 2010 , , ,
During the Chinese Ching Ming Festival, I'm back to my hometown, Sandakan. It is time to honour the ancestors at grave sites. Besides praying, we need to sweep the tombs and send offering to the ancestors. After all the ceremony were done, it is time to take a break and enjoy myself. Of course, with my favourite food.

Firstly, I had my favourite Pancake with Peanut bought at Mile 4 Pasar.
Pancake with Peanut RM1.60
It is like the Kuih Terang Bulan in KK but this version is less oily and more tasty. Thick pancake with grounded peanut and sugar fillings. Yummy!
For lunch, we had Bak Kut Teh at Restauran Syn Lok, Bandar Indah. It is my favourite place for Bak Kut Teh. We had a vegetable dish and Bak Kut Teh with prawns, pork and pork ball. It cost around RM36 including three bowls of rice and three can drinks.
During tea-time, I had a Hot Chocolate at D'Venice, IJM. It cost RM6.50. Strong chocolate flavour and tasted so smooth. Mmmm...
Finally, I had dinner with my family at Restaurant New Pasir Putih. Time for seafood!! We ordered a Butter Prawn, Steamed Fish, Stir-fry vegetables, Steamed Crab, Lemon Chicken (didn't manage to take photo) and Stir-fried Clams.It cost around RM180 (for 6 persons dining).

Stir-fry local vegetables with belacan
Stir-fry clam (only manage to take photo of my first clam..hehe..it is too good)

Sometimes we do mumbling about the prices of the seafood we had in Sabah. Although it's considered reasonable, we were still complaining about it. During my previous trip to Hong Kong, I went to Parklane Hotel for buffet. It cost HKD550 per pax. It was so expensive mainly because these were served (see the photo below);

So, we should be proud of our own country and be thankful with the food we can enjoy. Good Day! Best Blogger Tips
