A TRIO OF GUINNESS COCKTAILS FOR A SIGNATURE STYLE CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION THIS FESTIVE SEASON


Planning a holiday party? This Christmas, Guinness introduces a trio of flavour-some Guinness cocktails, perfect for a signature style Christmas fete! Keith Nair, renowned mixologist and GAB Professional Solutions Managers, got into the Christmas spirit and specially concocted a menu of three Guinness inspired cocktails designed to embody the tastes and scents of the festive season.

Keith shows us how to create these unique Guinness Christmas cocktails with a twist on some classic Christmas recipes for a Christmas holiday party that is truly ‘MADE OF MORE’.
1) Frozen GUINNESS® Eggnog
Eggnogs and hot buttered rums have always been synonymous with the festive season. The frozen Guinness variation carries more symphony on the palate considering the tropical climate.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Guinness Foreign Extra Stout reduction, eggnog mixt
Method:
Shake with ice and strain over crushed ice
Glassware:
Goblet / sling
Garnish:
Nutmeg dusting, cinnamon stick
Tasting Notes:
Full bodied, custard like sweetness with a dark chocolate aftertaste
2) Berry Velvet Christmas
Contrary to the classic black velvet, the balance of currants and berries married with the signature taste of Guinness for an added twist.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
blackberries
simple syrup
crème de cassis
Smirnoff red
Method:
Muddle blackberries with crème de cassis. Pour in remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain over crushed ice and layered with GFES.
Glassware:
Champagne flute
Garnish:
Speared blackberries
Tasting Notes:
Fruity mouth feel with a short aftertaste
3) Irish Winter Mist
A very quick and easy cocktail to make in a jiffy at home. This festive delight is light and toasty on the palate with an aromatic twist.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Hazelnut syrup, JW Black Label, sage leaf, Topped with 60ml Guinness Foreign Extra Stout
Method:
Bruise sage leaf and drop into glass. Stir in ingredients 1 & 2 and fill with ice. Layered with Guinness Foreign Extra Stout.
Glassware:
Old fashioned / rocks
Garnish:
Sage leaf
Tasting Notes:
Has a Nutty undertone with a bittersweet aftertaste.
