Din Tai Fung has been voted Top 10 Restaurants in the World by The New York Times and has garnered 1 Michelin Star. This Taiwanese restaurant serves on of the best Xiao Long Bao (steamed dumplings). Open kitchen concept is their trademark and also well-appointed decor, serving comfort food like pork chop fried rice and stir-fried vegetables. Or go for a heartier meal, the braised Beef La-mian, springy noodles wallowing in rich beefy soup. I would highly recommend this be a once a week family visit restaurant with dishes like steamed chicken soup, fried rice with pork chop that is incredibly tender, noodle soups and wantons (all hand-made) that will please anyone and any age group.

Pan Mee at Lido has always been in my personal favourite list. Known as Kedai Kopi (Pan Mien) Lido, the stall open as early as in the morning catering to market goers till late night.

Teochew Porridge Restaurant been in the business for ages, opens till the wee hours of the morning. Located at Pudu. Business is always good cause there are clubs nearby and right above the shop is a cheap motel. This is a typical Chinese coffee shop, narrow and with only a few tables but you allow to sit at the table at the neighboring coffee shop. Porridge here are watery Teochew porridge and steamed rice also available, with a variety of side dishes to choose from, mostly are braised meats and pickled vegetable which are laid out in trays near the entrance . We were spoil with choices! There were many varieties of dishes from curries, to braised pork, to fried salted fish, im estimating easily 40 over types. Overall, we had a satisfying meal and the side dishes definitely complement the watery porridge, I like their porridge because it was not too heavy for supper.
