Conducts Power-Packed 2 Week Chocolatier Programme

In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, The Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia, a premier culinary and pastry arts institution, is holding a 2 Week Professional Chocolatier Programme starting June 4, 2018. The programme is dedicated to patrons and housewives who wish to delight their guests this coming festive season with intricate handmade chocolates.

Conducted by the Academy’s own award-winning chefs, the power-packed chocolatier class will allow students to learn master chocolate-crafting techniques. The programme will teach chocolate manipulation skills like moulding, panning, enrobing as well as basic skills in producing jams and marshmallows.
Putting the Academy’s teaching philosophy to practice, the class will be conducted in a small group setting and focus extensively on hands-on learning. Students will practice and develop their skills in a highly interactive learning environment with one-to-one attention from the chefs.
“Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a celebration of family, togetherness and good food. Anyone can buy a box of chocolates but making them yourself for a dear friend or family member would be more memorable and personal,” says Chef Niklesh Sharma, Founder and Managing Director of Academy of Pastry Arts.
Upon completion of the Chocolatier Programme, students will be issued a certificate accredited by Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia.

The Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia (Academy) was founded in 2010 by Chef Niklesh Sharma, a former Executive Pastry Chef of Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

From its inception, the Academy has believed that the pursuit of excellence in both pastry arts and culinary arts is life long journey; and must be taught by seasoned industry professionals, who understand the needs of a commercial setup. The faculty features multiple award-winning Chefs, and is a learning utopia for both new students, and experienced professionals alike.

The Academy syllabus was designed to produce kitchen-ready talent, and far exceeds the City & Guilds requirements of which all Academy programmes are accredited by. Paired with small class sizes, and quality hands-on training; the Academy serves as a springboard for many young graduates who are almost immediately snapped up by the industry, or go on to setup businesses of their own.

Their continued dedication towards this art form, led them to create one of the most anticipated annual pastry events - the Asia Pastry Forum, now in its 6th year. They have also successfully opened three more branches, namely in The Philippines and two in India.

After his Diploma in Food Production where he was trained in all kitchens, he attained his Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management and has been travelling ever since. He has been trained by some of the best pastry chefs of the world through forums, pastry events and schools.
