At Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan, our customized cakes are unique not only in design and personalisation but also in the high quality ingredients used. One of the key ingredients that Chef Eddie uses in working his magical creations is the Pastillage sugar - a sugar-based dough perfect for showpiece work and decorative molded forms. Every detail shared by the guests on how they would like their customized cakes to be, is carefully taken into consideration with some personal tips/advice from Chef Eddie on how best to achieve the overall presentation and taste.
For example, in order to create a 3D customized cake, it is advisable to look at either Butter Cake, Chocolate Moist or Red Velvet Cake for a solid base. For special celebrations involving the little ones, a Rainbow Cake is highly recommended. Alternatively for those who are health conscious, either the Fruit Cake or Carrot Cake will be the most ideal choice. All cakes baked at the hotel are made with less sugar to ensure delicious yet healthy options for the hotel’s customers. Supporting Chef Eddie is the skillfully-crafted pastry team, who are ever ready on hand to provide recommendations / advice on the sweets or cakes to hotel customers to ensure that their special celebrations are further enhanced with these sublime creations.
Armed with more than 10 years’ work experience, Chef Eddie has an amazing list of accolades including winning a Gold medal for Kota Kinabalu Giant Wedding Cake competition in 2011 and a Bronze medal in the patisserie showpiece competition in 2012. Chef Eddie was also involved in creating innovative customized cakes for Yang di–Pertua Negeri of Sabah (TYT) during the official birthday and Hari Raya celebrations since 2005.
With Chef Eddie’s deft fingers, all cake designs can be transformed into sin-fulicious creations – reflecting the guest’s individual taste, style and requirements. All you have to do is share your ideas with any of the hotel’s associates at Wrapped, the hotel’s deli-style lounge with an amazing outdoor courtyard. The cake must be at least weigh a minimum of 2kg and an advance notice of 3-5 days prior to the delivery date is required.
Price : Minimum order of RM130++ for a 2kg cake. A 50% deposit is required as confirmation of the booking.
