Zipangu at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is offering Osechi Set Menu from 1 to 4 January, 2016. This six-course Osechi meal features auspicious ingredients such as black beans for good health and sweet chestnut ball to denote wealth.







An appetiser of Sesame Tofu, Tsukihane and Steamed Sea Urchin begins the Osechi meal, followed by Steamed Snapper with Egg Yolk and Truffle. The next dish of Black Beans, sweet chestnuts, vinegared radish and carrot, salmon roe, baby sardine, rolled crab, rolled eel and kelp with fish eggs ooze auspiciousness. More good fortune is conveyed in the dish of Grilled Crab, red and white fish cake, egg roll, lotus root, stick ginger, bell-shaped yam, pine cone-shaped yam and turnip. Clear Soup with grilled chicken, mochi, carrot and radish is then served, followed by Steamed Glutinous Rice with red beans topped with snapper. Holding the promise of wealth is the Sweet Red Bean Soup with chestnut ball that ends this sumptuous Osechi meal, at RM350 nett per person.
