Feliz Navidad & Cocina Española at La Fiesta
There are many fine restaurants to patronise while you are enjoying the cool climate of Resorts World Genting at SkyAvenue. We at Everyday Food I Love has had the pleasure of trying out some of the new outlets over the course of 2017, but La Fiesta has got to be one of the more exclusive experiences as it offers authentic Spanish cuisine. La Fiesta is located on the first floor of the SkyAvenue, right next to the Park Avenue Lounge. The commodious restaurant has a seating capacity of 90 persons and is designed to mimic the unique architecture of a Spanish Hacienda. I couldn't help but notice the Moorish influenced arches and glass windows, even the lights are imported directly from Spain. The place exudes a nice relaxing atmosphere, and to be sure I sat myself like a Don who owned the place.
The people staffing this establishment are very dedicated to their jobs, it is a joy to watch them work, especially since the restaurant was built with an open kitchen separated from the dining area via glass panels. The most mesmerising part is of course the preparations of the meats, and you can even watch how they prepare their Sangrias, with FIRE!
La Fiesta stocks an excellent selection of Vino Wines and drinks. But a meal at a Spanish Restaurant is not complete without trying out their Sangria, which is basically wine served mixed with freshly diced or chopped up fruits. The highlight of our visit to La Fiesta was of course, to try their Jamón ibérico or Iberico Ham. Now, the Iberico Ham is renowned as being one of the best hams in the world, which is not a light boast and is also recognised as such by the IFFA Delicat.

Mixed Iberico Cut and Cheese RM95 👍👍
This mixed platter is an excellent chioce, especially for first timers like me who have yet to identify a favourite Iberico Cold Cut. Classically served on a stone-wrought platter, it has Jamon, Chorizo, Salchichon and Lomo Iberico for your dining pleasure. Predictably, I ended up liking the Jamon Iberico the most.
Gambas al Ajillo RM29
I am completely unbiased
not when I tell you will tell you that the best way to serve prawns are freshly-seared from the pan. The Spanish however, favour it this way, where it is served poached in Olive Oil, Garlic and sliced Red Chilli. Now prawns are very difficult to describe in English, but these are perfect! They were quite "song chuy", still retaining that nice delectable soft crunchy texture. Flavour-wise, it was bit oily for me but tasted really good!
Calamares a la Andaluza RM28 👍
A definite favourite among most seafood fans. Despite it's fancy name, this is actually deep-fried Calamari served with a bowl of cold Garlic Mayonnaise Dip. I totally loved this simple dish, having partaking this favourite tapas in many social events drinking with my friends.
Pork and Chicken Paella RM78 👍
No Spanish Cuisine dining experience is complete without a serving of Paella, which is considered by many as Spain's National dish. Bomba Rice is slow cooked in a chicken broth, with a mixture of chicken and pork and liberally seasoned with Spanish Paprika.
Black Seafood Paella RM98
Similiar to the Pork and chicken Paella, Bomba Rice is slow cooked in a seafood broth, with a mixture of prawns and cuttle fish and infused with Squid Ink!
Patatas Bravas RM18
Cubed potatoes are pan-fried and served a spicy tomato sauce. I found this to be an excellent alternative to Paella as a source of carbs, it was pretty good! La Fiesta also considered this a vegetarian dish.
Purplo a Feira RM45
Seafood fans, rejoice! This dish is actually the leg of an Octopus, cunningly arranged to resemble a seahorse. It is served with paprika on top of a bed of potatoes. Octopus is not one of my favourite foods but I found this quite delicious.
Crema Catalana RM16 👍
We finished off our meal at La fiesta with a nice big bowl of Caramelised Custard Cream. This big bowl is large enough to share with a few persons, so order wisely.
This coming Christmas, La Fiesta is also proud to present to you their Festive Menu. On offer, they have three course set meals, each accompanied with complimentary drinks. They are priced at RM300. RM380 and RM 650 respectively. Have a gander at their menu!
