Asian Bike Tour Thailand 2017 (Northern Thailand - 4 provinces Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Nan)

15 avid cyclists from Malaysia were invited for the Asian Bike Tour (Northern Thailand). This race offer a huge prize over USD$3000 for 1st prize and USD$300 less for every subsequent position till 10th place. This is an epic bike tournament with over 17000 m of elevation and to covered 1200 km in 7 days race. The gradients on climbs often exceeded 20%. It was really impossible to make it with my Cervelo R2 - 32 tooth cassette.

This tour was fully sponsored by Northern Thailand Sport/Tourism Ministry and we were well taken care of. We were pampered in luxury hotels most of the nights and good food. Every morning our luggage will be transported to the next location hotel and it will always be at the hotel when we checked in without any damage or missing bags. We all enjoy the outstanding sceneries along the ride and at the places we stayed, it was out of this world.

I don't give up....never!
During the course of this 2nd day tour I had 2 punctures and 5 falls on the uphill, can't cope with the elevation, injured my both legs from the falls. Although I am in pain, I continue the tour but only managed to cycle 20km on the 3rd day race, I keep peddling until I see an ambulance and I have to DNF (Do Not Finish). On the 4th day I skipped the tour and go on the support car to the next location hotel. On the 5th day I go on the tour again, managed to cycle 53km and my leg injuries pain shoot in, I have to stop and call for support car again. I'm not going to give up, I don't want to miss out anything, as long as I can still move my legs I will go on. 6th day I ride again, this time I go as fast as I can, all in my mind was just to go as far as I can until my legs injury shoot in then only I stopped, I cycled all the way to Checkpoint 4 (138km)and DNF there. Day 7 last day of the race, it was an easy rolling hill course, but this time my injuries pain shoot in at the first 10km, I only managed to push until 65km, I've even try to pedal with only left leg but it's impossible to go on cause my left knee can't even bend, so at this point I gotta just call for rescue. I am not disappointed with myself cause I've tried my best each day. If you ask me would I go for this tour/race again, the answer will still be "Yes", it worth all the pain, blood and sweat to see the beautiful side of Northern Thailand.

Before I give up... I am just gonna try to push a little further. Obstacles do not block the path, they are the path. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
I don't give up easily. I fight for what I want. I didn't come this far to only come this far. In life many things don't go according to plan. If you fall, get back up. If you stumble, regain your balance. Never give up.

Experience is the teacher of all things. The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. You cannot create experience, you must undergo it. You are the result of your experiences, never regret who you have become!!!
Malaysia women cyclist Yén Lim (Lokka girl) top 3 in women category. Nash Lim is top 18th in the race. We all received Finisher trophy for our participation in Asian Bike Tour (Northern Thailand) 2017. The rescue teams said Malaysia riders are very strong... we never give up. Malaysia Boleh! This is how we celebrate ourl Merdeka Day and we are proud to represent our country.

There are people we meet in life that make everything seem magical... cherish them. They're meant to cross our path for a reason. Life is about the people we meet and the things we create with them. So let's go out and start creating, life is too short to be spent alone. 🙏🙏😇😇 - at Asian Bike Tour Thailand 2017

LIFE IS A ONE TIME OFFER, USE IT WELL. IN THE END WE ONLY REGRET THE CHANCES WE DIDN'T TAKE. LIFE IS A STORY, MAKE YOURS THE BEST SELLER.

Life is a journey, not a destination.
