A New A La Carte Menu @ Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millennium



Chinese New Year 2017 has come and gone, and with it, the change of menus offering CNY menus across the nation. Once more, we return to Lai Ching Yuen Chinese Restaurant to explore their new ala carte menu. Readers of our blog will remember our last visit to this famous restaurant, you can read more about it here.


To date, Lai Ching Yuen still remains one of the most pre-eminent restaurants specialising in Cantonese or Yuècài (粤菜) cuisine.

The ambience of the restaurant remains as glamorous as ever.

Set to launch in mid-May 2017, the restaurant led by Executive Chinese Chef Terence Foong and his dedicated culinary team will be launching a new a la carte menu.





New additions to the menu include stuffed white mushroom with pork and shrimp in marmite sauce, smoked duck breast with chef’s special dressing, crispy pork trotter, braised crab meat and fresh fish maw soup, stewed stuff sea cucumber with shimeji mushrooms and bean curd, wok-fried Bei Fong Tong style prawns, crispy fried cuttlefish with salt and pepper, baked pork ribs with lemon grass, fried rice with duck liver paste and pine nuts and Chef Terence’s must-try signature Ombak style sautéed tiger grouper with supreme soy sauce.

Also renowned for serving the best dim sum in town, Lai Ching Yuen presents over 50 savoury and sweet bite-sized delights that are made live in the open show kitchen led by Master Chef Thye Yoon Kong. Featuring a combination of exquisite flavours and a unique aesthetic flair, some of his specials include Braised Seafood Dumpling, Shanghainese Xiaolongbao, Deep-fried Bean Curd Roll with Shrimp, Szechuan-style Steamed Wonton, Deep-fried Yam Puff and the delectable Steamed Custard Bun with Egg Yolk.

Lai Ching Yuen is located at Level 1 of Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur and is open daily for lunch (12:00 Noon to 2:30 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM on weekends and public holidays) and dinner (6:30 PM to 10:30 PM daily.
