It has been more than a year since our last visit to Oriental Cafe (of the hotel with the same namesake). Judging from the many diners and packed dinner hall, this establishment has shed it's previous reputation as a place of 'last resort' and, judging from the food, has certainly risen to the ranks of 'must-go-to' place. Not to mention the inflation busting prices (even before Groupon discount!)

Property Hunter Gives Back to the Community

The 2014 Property Hunter Expo (PH Expo) saw over 15,000 visitors during the three-day event. A total of 200 units were sold which collectively were worth over RM150 million. Organizer Maxx Media (S) Sdn Bhd made an earlier pledge to donate RM50 for every unit sold to Habitat for Humanity. Through the sales, they managed to raise RM10,000 for the non-governmental organization that helps eliminate poverty housing by building affordable houses for the less fortunate. Apart from this, public donation coupled with donation made by speakers at the expo amounts to RM4605.55. Speakers who donated the money from their book sales are Ahyat Ishak, Chris Tan, Michael Yeoh, Faizul Ridzuan and Richard Oon.

We found this fabulous place for Bak Kut Teh and Steamed Fish Head, it has been one of our favourite dinner place, this restaurant also have a long history in Old Klang Road. The food here not only good but cheap and the service was excellent. This restaurant is located a few shop away from the ever famous "Ah Wang Bak Kut Teh Stall".

Otako Japanese Food is now opened at Taste Enclave, a new pork-friendly food court in the newly-revamped Avenue K, this food court hosts a mix food stalls from old streetside names in a clean, contemporary, strategically-lit space. From the famous Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien, Pudu’s Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice, Chinatown’s famed Soong Kee beef noodles, -17'c (Parfait) and many more. Otako Japanese Food is famous for their takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (flat cake of unsweetened batter fried with various ingredients). This is the Osaka-style (origin in Osaka Japan) which is doughy, soft, hot and steamy - cooked through with lots of nori and katsuo.

One or two Malaysian favourite food, ice cream and fried chicken, you can get both of this....I mean the good one at Klang for Yao Yao Ping and Fried Chicken which is located at Jalan Young few minutes away from Tesco Klang. Cooking station it actually at the front of the restaurant, where you can place your order for food and observe how they fried their crispy chicken. It is always crowded all the people ahve to queue and wait for their order, reminds me the situation while I'm in Melaka Jonker Street. Everyone got their orders and leave the line happily. At the other stall, aunty is busy serving Yao Yao Ping, is another feast queue to die for here. Be seated inside the restaurant, where you can enjoy your hot fried chicken in air-condition hall.

You can find free parking after office hour but hardly any parking during lunch time. Their signature dish are Steamed Fish Head or Steamed Fish with Assam Sauce and other home style cooked dishes, ask the wait staff for recommendation.

Eden’s famous for their Halal Dim Sum served daily from 6:30a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from Fresh Lobster Dumpling, King Siu Mai (fully stuffed with juicy fresh prawns), Cod Fish Dumpling, Steamed Dumpling in Superior Soup and to other assorted steaming hot Dim Sum delicacies on Eden’s menu. The food here is really good and fast service as they know you are in hurry to catch your flight.

Price for a basic noodles start from RM8.50 onward and I believe most of the customers don’t mind to pay for a bowl of lip smacking fish head noodle with this price range. Simply love their tasty rich broth filled with rice vermicelli, salted vegetables, evaporated milk, shredded ginger, sliced of tomato, crispy pork lard fritters and big chunk fried fish head meat and nice springy bite of fish paste. Besides the traditional serving, you can opt to have variations which come with toppings like fish paste, squid balls or prawns
