FONTERRA TO BRING MAINLAND CHEESE TO MALAYSIA

Fonterra recently announced that it will be bringing in its best- selling cheese brand, Mainland to Malaysia. The product, which will be available in hypermarkets and supermarkets across the country from June 2013, was launched in conjunction with New Zealand Week, held between 11 and 23 March in Kuala Lumpur. Honorable Steven Joyce, New Zealand’s Minister of Economic Development, Minister of Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, Minister of Science and Innovation and Associate Minister of Finance was present to officially launch the brand in Malaysia.

Ngo 89 @ Ho Chi Minh

A nice and cheap place for a Pho. It is useful to remember that you do not necessarily have to spend 50,000 dong on a good local Vietnamese meal if you explore accordingly. This is a small noodle and bread stall, serving excellent Pho where local eats and only cost you 25,000-30,000 dong for a bowl of noodle.

Another Taiwanese bubble tea chain, Come Buy has entered the market to compete against the current operators, Chatime, Gong Cha and Ochado. The name 'Come Buy' sounds quite juvenile but apparently they are quite a big international player, having outlets in five different countries and selling over 500,000 cups a day. Like others bubble tea chain, Come Buy allows customer to choose the degree of sweetness for their beverages. Their drinks come in two sizes, regular and large.

XOI GA Number One @ Ho Chi Minh

XOI GA Number One, a humble restaurant with metal chrome tables and plastic chair which is frequented by locals after work hour before making their way home. Many locals stop by for snack on spring rolls or small bowl of noodles. You can tell the restaurant is good when the crowds keep coming in.

This restaurant is a very popular place amongst Malaysian and have since opened 4 outlets throught the Klang Valley. They serve authentic Taiwanese food, not the 'street' type but a more upmarket type. At Fong Lye, there are always a long queue for a table but no one mind waiting for it. I like the food here and they do serve some truly excellent dishes. The set meals here, offering nearly anything you could possibly think of at a particular moment whether it's rice, noodle, soup, fish, meat, and even snacks.
